Seth Embry is a doctoral student at Yale University (PhD in Architecture, Ecosystems in Architectural Sciences track).
Prior to joining Yale, he has worked extensively as a designer and an educator in Brooklyn, most recently teaching ecological design studios and theory seminars in the Interior Design department at Pratt Institute. His design-theoretical research explores the cultural and spatial products of ecological crisis. The current phase of his disciplinary project seeks to propose operative design strategies for the turbulent present as well as those of contingent futures, collectively considered as defensive ecologies and architectures of exigence.
Seth has practiced in various design and construction roles in New York since 2004. Seth holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute and Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida.
